This fall, Boston Ballet presents BB@home: ChoreograpHER, a showcase of work by Company dancers Lia Cirio, Hannah Bettes, Jessica Burrows, Sage Humphries, Lauren Flower, and Haley Schwan. Shantell Martin is honored to emcee the event and to moderate a conversation with Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen, choreographers, and the audience.
BB@home—is a series of intimate performances at its grand rehearsal studio located at 19 Clarendon Street. The studio transforms into a state-of-the-art black box theater bringing the audience even closer to the art. Boston Ballet’s fall BB@home programming encourages their talented female dancers who have an interest in choreography, giving them a platform to gain experience as choreographers. Historically, the majority of produced choreographers have been male. Through BB@home: ChoreograpHER, Boston Ballet is proud to support the creative development of their Company dancers while amplifying the voices and visions of female art makers.
