x  Marguerite  Means  Business:  Girls  Supporting  Girls  in  the  Arts

To celebrate Frieze New York 2018, Shantell Martin took part in Marguerite's first stateside event as a part of a panel at The Wing called Marguerite Means Business: Girls Supporting Girls in the Arts.

The panel aimed to give practical tips on how to navigate a career in the art world as a woman. Topics covered included the importance of: female focussed support networks in the arts; female role models and mentoring and causes and ways of combating the gender pay gap.

Art & Culture writer Margaret Carrigan moderated the panel which consisted of Deputy Director of Frieze fairs, Kristell Chade, Leonard A. Lauder Curator of Modern Art at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Stephanie D'Allesandro, painter and curator at Wythe Hotel, Kimia Ferdowsi Kline and Acting Executive Director of Creative Time, Alyssa Nitchun. 

Marguerite is a London-based club for women who work across art, design, fashion, architecture, and photography that host 30 events/year curated and championed by the likes of Director of Tate Modern, Frances Morris; Founders of Frieze, Matthew Slotover and Amanda Sharp; fashion designer Roksanda and gallerist, Sadie Coles.
